Working with the Inner Critic
and transforming our relationship with criticism, guilt and shame

with Hayley Stevens & Owen Stevens

Next Workshop
Spring 2020

Picture

For most of us, the inner critic makes its appearance when we think we’ve made a mistake; leaving almost as suddenly as it arrives.

But what about the critic that dogs our every step?  The one that limits our potential and with it our ability to live our lives to the full?

In this practical and experiential 2-day workshop we explore the mechanisms that underpin and maintain the inner critic.  We will explore and develop the skills essential for changing our relationship with the inner critic including:

  • the ability to respond rather than react to the inner critic
  • develop a greater awareness of the characteristics and purpose of the inner critic as well as the parts that are shamed and guilty
  • learning to nurture a mindful way of being with punitive, harsh and undermining messages of the inner critic

About the facilitators

Facilitated by Hayley Stevens and Owen Stevens.  Hayley is a Body Psychotherapist and Somatic Trauma Therapist.  Owen is a Process Oriented Practitioner. Both have been engaged in personal development and meaningful change for at least 30 years.

Hayley and Owen are founded Silk House Therapy Practice in 2010 and are two of the co-founders of the big room cic.  They frame their approach to therapy as 'the art of living...in bigger rooms.'
