Events organised by the big room cic further the exploration of what makes a community resilient: what keeps us apart? What brings us together?

The events below continue to explore the relationships we wish to nurture with ourselves and the communities in which we live.

big room community meeting: the future
Picture
In November 2019 the big room cic opened its doors. The opening event, 'Dancing our way home', held by Laura Shannon and Kostantis Kourmadias would prove to be more prophetic than we could ever have imagined. Despite a tumultuous 4 years, the big room cic is still dancing its way home.

To mark the big room cic's fourth anniversary we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a celebration and an exploration of what next. Follow the link for more information and to register.

Exploring belonging with Kath Burlinson
Picture
© 2023 Kath Burlinson, Belonging
In this workshop, the theme of ‘belonging’ will be explored through a range of expressive possibilities and invitations: you may find yourself writing, moving, drawing, sounding, singing, storytelling, or some combination of these. Or you may have another way you wish to explore the theme.

Kath will be taking the same approach as she does in her Authentic Artist workshops guiding the group and individuals to focus on and discover what ‘belonging’ means to you?  Do you feel you belong in your body? In the place you call home? In your community? In/on the land?"

You do not need to be a professional artist/performer/singer to attend this workshop. It is open to all. Kath's approach is to create a secure and nurturing space, honouring each person on their singular journey to be/long.

Follow this link to a video about Authentic Artist workshops that may be of interest.

There will be a maximum of 10 participants.
