In May 2023 the big room cic hosted Kath Burlinson, founder of the Authentic Artist Collective (AAC), for a 4th Authentic Artist Workshop.
The first Authentic Artist Asylum (AAA) was held in the big room in September 2023 establishing the AAC northern hub. AAA days are a key way for those who have attended an AA workshop to stay connected with their artistry and an artistic community/family. AAA is also open to those who have not attended an AA workshop - so please get in touch if you are curious! 
AAA is a chance to share work/ideas or just be in the AA space together.
This event is open to invitees * At our first AAC northern hub meeting we were joined by musicians, actors, dancers, writers, multi-disciplinary artists, a sculpture and those who have yet to find their artistic identity. Kath Burlinson is a theatre maker - a director, performer, writer, workshop leader and mentor. In 1997 she created the Weird Sisters Theatre Company. In 2006 she created the solo show, The Mother's Bones. In 2007 she founded The Authentic Artist Collective. In September 2023 Kath facilitated her 77th AA workshop. Kath describes the AAC as an empowerment engine and support network for artists from all disciplines, as well as a production company for new work.
