Overview: For the last 40 years, the photographer Sebastião Salgado has been travelling through the continents, in the footsteps of an ever-changing humanity. He has witnessed some of the major events of our recent history; international conflicts, starvation and exodus. He is now embarking on the discovery of pristine territories, of wild fauna and flora, and of grandiose landscapes as part of a huge photographic project which is a tribute to the planet's beauty.
Note: we decided to screen this documentary now as the work of Sebastião Salgado is coming to Manchester for the very first time in May 2022. The exhibition is being held at The Science and Industry Museum from 13 May until 14 August 2022. Tickets are free but need to be booked in advance.
After the screening: Please note that the following is optional. For those who wish to we will spend up to 60 minutes exploring and sorting through the major themes that have arisen in the documentary/film.
