co-Founder Beyond the Box
Ellis Beardsmore (they/them) co-founded Beyond the Box a facilitation collective to provide education, training, and workshops on Gender, Sexuality, and Relationship diversity - aiming to inform, inspire and challenge by offering experiential, interactive, and in-depth training for professionals, organisations and members of the public.
They also help run Pride Outside a Social Enterprise in Glasgow supporting the LGBT community to improve their wellbeing through time in nature. They have recently trained as a celebrant and bring a heart-led, creative approach to honouring and marking life’s transitions, specialising in naming ceremonies for the trans community. In a previous life, they have been a CEO of an Educational Charity in Scotland as well as working for the Department for International Development in Sudan, Pakistan and London.
Ellis is a trainee psychotherapist, facilitator, trainer, and celebrant. They specialise in creating spaces where people can connect with their authentic selves, bring deeper awareness to complex situations and celebrate transitions. Ellis is interested in how to enable people to be their most authentic selves and have the difficult conversations that are needed to create a more equitable world. Ellis takes a structural approach seeking to understand and dismantle the systems contributing to inequality.
